Customer Interviews No.3

week 6

These interviews are conducted based off of my first idea, B-fast, not the napkin idea. The napkin idea is what I would really love to pursue but I could not find the customer base in Gainesville to interview for it, considering it would be located in Melbourne Beach, which many people here have not heard of.

1. I will be asking my interviewees:
Have you ever been to Pita Pit or Relish late at night? If so, what was the wait time like?
Would you get late night breakfast if it was available to you?
Why do you think people like late night breakfast?
Where would you go to get breakfast near campus before morning classes?
My strategy is to interview students of UF who are often found in midtown late at night. I will interview people in my apartment complex(sorority row area) and in the midtown area passing by.

3. From these interviews, I learned there are a number of people out there that do not like breakfast foods. I personally agree and would rather chicken nuggets and fries late at night rather than pancakes and eggs. However, I do still believe there is a large enough market in Gainesville for a late night breakfast spot. It is no surprise why places such as Waffle House, IHOP, Steak n Shake and Denny's are so successful, but none of them are close enough to campus.

  1. Hey Lauren, great idea you have here. It’s great that you have a specific customer target, in this case being UF students who want late breakfast. Like you said many people like late breakfast, while many others dislike it. I personally believe you have a future with this idea. Your interviews were very short and concrete; however, I was only able to view two. Perhaps interviewing more people would give you a better feedback regarding your idea. One thing we have in common is that I too targeted a specific customer, in my case it was senior Americans. 2. Hi Lauren. I like your idea. It does target a very specific demographic. I just happen to enjoy things like chicken fingers and fries for breakfast. I’m not sure how many people agree with our tastes in the morning. I saw on the news recently that McDonald’s had its best quarter ever after making breakfast all day. I fell that the breakfast consumer has spoken when it comes to eating at McDonald’s.

  3. Hi Lauren, I think your interviews went well and they provided you with some very honest feedback. If you had to more interviews for this particular idea I would hit up people who work overnighters or people who are into the night life, those are the kinds of people you should focus on and can provide you with the feedback you are looking for. You have a really great idea and thank you for sharing. I did not do interviews for my idea but I’ve included a link to my blog in case you wanted to check out what else I’ve posted and been working on: http://js-uf-ent3003-2016.blogspot.com/
